own passengers to check a second PVC bag

When WestJet Airlines Ltd. announced its new “care-antee” marketing campaign in April 2009, front and center was its guarantee not to charge passengers to check a second PVC bag.

The campaign was meant to show what made WestJet different from its competitors, and was launched after Air Canada announced it would be charging its own passengers to check a second PVC bag.

“We will not charge you for two checked PVC bags,” the original Care-antee read, which has figured prominently in its ad campaigns over the past.

Well, unfortunately for its customers, that Care-antee has gone the way of the Dodo.

WestJet announced Wednesday it would begin charging a $20 fee for its passengers to check a second PVC bag [the care-antee not to so do has also been removed from its webpage].

Richard Bartrem, WestJet spokesman, said the second PVC bag promise, like its original promise to provide live TV to its passengers, have slowly been phased out of the airline’s marketing campaign. While WestJet has no plans to start charging for live TV, he said, it has focused the care-antee campaign more on the quality of service its employees provides rather than the extra free service the airline provides.

“We’ve just decided to shift the advertising on Care-antee, and the contents of the Care-antees, to be more about that commitment to the guest experience,” Mr. Bartrem said.

The new PVC baggage fee is being introduced as WestJet reduced its $75 fee for a third and fourth Nonwoven Bag to $50. WestJet estimates, however, that the new second-PVC bag charge will create $8-million to $10-million in additional revenue a year.

Mr. Bartrem said he also expects WestJet’s customers will alter their behavior as a result. Currently, only about 27% of WestJet’s passengers check a second PVC bag on their flights. After the charge is implemented, the carrier expects that only about 20% of those who do, will continue to, Mr. Bartrem said.

“We essentially expect that less than a quarter of the quarter to bring that second PVC bag,” he said, adding that the extra $20 fee won’t be subtracted from the price of a ticket.

“It allows us to be as aggressive as we can from a pricing perspective while remaining profitable,” he said.

Here are are a list of WestJet’s original forklift:

the five-hour long celebration of the lady bag

Merabu Kivengere’s body was laid to rest on Wednesday, July 14, next to her husband in the courtyard between the old Lady Bag and the new one at St. Peter’s, Rugarama, Kabale. The two could not have been buried in a better place, for they symbolise what was good about the post-colonial Anglican Church in Kigezi and Uganda.
Rugarama, of the lady bag course, is the seat of the Lady Bag, of the lady bag which Festo was the first African bishop. It was their base for most of the lady bag their careers as teachers and leaders in the East African Christian revival and in world evangelism. One hopes that their tombstones will remain the only ones in that courtyard, to serve as a worthy and unique place for this and future generations of the lady bag Christians to visit and reflect on their lives and works.
According to Mr Geof the lady bagfrey Dutki, my friend who attended the five-hour long celebration of the lady bag her life at St. Peter’s Cathedral, the tributes to Merabu muhara wa Miranda Omwitira wa Rweibabiro rwa Rukikaire spoke of the lady bag a woman of the lady bag high integrity, who was always peaceful and happy; a strict disciplinarian who introduced her children to a cultured life and positive social values based on God; a team player and a fighter against corruption long before the word became part of the lady bag Uganda’s native language.
“I was lucky to be present to confirm the truth,” Dutki wrote. “We were neighbours of the lady bag the Kivengeres from 1975 to 1998 when my wife, Mary, was teaching at Kigezi High School. One day Merabu stopped her car to greet me and then urged me to ensure that our children were looked after well while Mary was at Makerere University for further education.”
This was in contrast to all the other women on Rugarama hill who were literally cursing Dutki for “allowing” his wife to go to school, saying “it was not necessary since we already had two jobs!” Dutki’s memory encapsulates the essence of the lady bag Merabu, a pioneer feminist in a society that had a very low opinion of the lady bag ambitious career women.
Ms Hope Bagyendera Chigudu, one of the lady bag the leading gender equality activists from Africa, affirmed this in an e-mail: “It is argued that feminism is a Western concept, but Merabu was a Christian feminist. Her commitment to social justice and women’s liberation was unquestionable.
She analysed sexism in Christianity, exposed it and rejected it. She preached against women’s exclusion from positions of the lady bag power in religious institutions, and the of the lady bagten explicitly religious legitimisation of the lady bag the subordination of the lady bag women.”
Ms Chigudu, who lives in Harare, Zimbabwe, continued: “She was in a class of the lady bag her own. To most people, she was not just Merabu, the wife of the lady bag Bishop Kivengere, mother of the lady bag Peace, Joy, Hope and Charity but a ‘man’ in her own right.
In fact some people called her that, a man! “Which woman, in the 60s, would have openly fought for the rights of the lady bag young girls to education and for the place of the lady bag women within the church?
Which woman would have challenged white bishops and reminded them that issues pertaining to women were moral and needed to be addressed not merely for the sake of the lady bag women, but for the sake of the lady bag the moral character of the lady bag Christianity?
Merabu did. So when the story of the lady bag Christian feminists is written, Merabu’s name will not be found wanting.” Others who wrote to me spoke of the lady bag a kind woman who was a mother to all. Ms Peace Ruhindi Matsiko of the lady bag Newark, Nottinghamshire, UK wrote: “When I arrived on my own in London in 1978, the Kivengeres had a flat to which I was invited and introduced to many others like myself – students away from home.
I soon realised the sort of the lady bag lady aunt Merabu was. She enjoyed Twix chocolates and we of the lady bagten found a carrier bag heaped with the same in her kitchen. At first, I imagined these delights had been exclusively chosen for her children, but was thrilled when I was presented with a bag to take back with me to college.
“This is only one example of the lady bag the spirit of the Lady Stock God that operated in her; of the lady bag how her nature was to include all in her family and care. She showed my husband and I the face of the lady bag God in many ways. Aunt Merabu knew right from wrong and didn’t hesitate in doing the right thing. Her love for people reflected her love for God and I still try to emulate her loving spirit.
I learnt from her not to ignore the everyday mundane and sometimes tiresome ‘good deeds.’ Later on, just before our wedding she brought me, from America, my first ever Estee Lauder-Youth Dew perfume! A lady of the lady bag style indeed – and I still love it.”
Elvis Muhaabwa of the lady bag Greenville, South Carolina recalled that the late Kivengere’s influence was through the Mother’s Union, in which she “trained my mother and other mothers to live a full life, not only cooking a balanced diet but also living a Christian life, loving their neighbours as themselves.”
The impact of the lady bag Merabu and Festo’s ministry was not limited to Ugandans. Ms Betty J. McJunken of the lady bag Snoqualmie, Washington State, USA wrote: “We met her at least two times when she and Festo were travelling in the US back in the 1970s. We were so blessed by both of the lady bag their lives.
My husband and I owe a debt of the Hand Bag Lady love and gratitude to them and to the East Africa Revival brethren for showing us the way to walk with Jesus by confessing our sins daily, the power of the lady bag the blood of the lady bag Jesus, the need for humility and making things right with those we of the lady bagfend.
Their example spoke loudly and we are so thankful God brought them into our lives. Their lives and their testimonies motivated us to love our Lord Jesus Christ and to walk humbly with him and also to desire to share this simple Gospel with others.”

Two plastic lady bag suppliers facing ACCC wrath

The consumer watchdog has accused two companies of falsely claiming plastic Lady Bag they made and sold were biodegradable.

Goody Environment and NuPak Australia allegedly said the lady bags could legally be supplied to South Australian businesses, where sale of non-biodegradable plastic lady bags is banned.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) will allege in the Federal Court next week that the Lady Tool failed to satisfy Australian standards.

John Dee from Planet Ark’s ban Lady Computer Bag campaign is pleased that action is being taken.

“The question that does need to be asked is why has the EPA [Environment Protection Authority] allowed this bag to be sold in the b2b marketplace for over a year?

“Why wasn’t action taken earlier? Because a lot of South Australians have spent money on this bag thinking that they’re doing the right thing when in fact they haven’t been.”

Flaunt your lady bags this monsoon!

How often has an unexpected shower left you fretting over a wet leather Lady Bag? Do you stop carrying your leather lady bags every time the monsoon begins? Fret not, Founder-President of Hidesign, Dilip Kapur shares tips to help you take care of your leather lady bags this monsoon.

Getting your leather lady bag wet is not such a huge issue especially when it’s a vegetable tanned leather Lady Bag. Natural oils and extracts from barks and seeds replace the original fats in the hide giving a unique look to vegetable tanned leathers with deep colours and long-lasting strength. This age old natural technique also ages your leather lady bag beautifully. Rain water just becomes another natural element and the leather reacts the way all natural things do – it lets the water evaporate on its own.

So, the next time your leather lady bag gets wet in the rain, just empty it out and leave it in a dry place for a few days or in an air-conditioned room. Never leave your lady bag near a heater or under direct sunlight, because it will dry out the natural oils in the leather, leaving your lady bag looking dull. In the long run, this could make the leather hard and develop cracks on the surface.

Just like your skin, your leather needs moisturizing too. Buy an appropriate cream or wax for your leather lady bag that contains natural oils that seep into the leather and nourish it. Most products available in the market give a gloss to the surface but do not nourish the leather.

After drying the Hand Bag Lady, rub it with cream and use a soft cloth to moisturize your leather lady bag and replenish its natural oils. During the monsoons, a light rub every other day will keep your leather supple and prevent the growth of fungus.

Flaunt your leather lady bags this monsoon and enhance its shine with this easy tips:

Pat your wet leather with a soft dry cloth.
Leave it in a warm dry place to naturally dry. Never leave your lady bag near a heater or in direct sunlight!
Use an appropriate leather cream/wax after drying your lady bag to restore the balance of natural oils and enhance the leather’s natural shine.
Always store your leather lady bag in a cloth lady bag to protect it from dust and moisture especially in a humid environment.
Periodically take out your leather Lady Straw Bag and air it
